Avalanche Safety Poster
-Reflection
Snow science is relevant in my life because I love the mountains and it helped me to know what to do if if the terrain looks unsafe and how to avoid an avalanche. I learned that snow the main source of water in the west because when it melts the rivers flow become higher from the snow in the mountains. This prevents droughts and it keeps our rivers high so we can raft, kayak, tube, etc. The skill i have learned is how to identify avalanche terrain and check the snow pack in order to prevent a possible avalanche.
YOLO Project- Wearing Helmets While Climbing

Every 21 seconds someone in the U..S. someone gets in an accident causing them to have serious brain trauma. 50,000 people die from brain trauma a year and 235,000 are hospitalized a year. According to the American Association of Neurological Surgeons 21% of serious brain trauma in the U.S. is caused from recreational sports.
